This 7,500 square foot Aspen home is the cover story of Luxe Magazine’s Winter 2010 Colorado issue. The modern architecture, exceptional views to Ajax mountain, and inside/outside spaces called for a minimalist decorative lighting scheme with architectural lighting as the primary lighting source in all rooms.

Throughout the home the lighting warms the concrete structure, smoked oak wood floors, custom African wenge woodwork while accentuating the artwork and architectural forms. Each lighting layer was crafted into custom scenes for the owner that match their activities at various times of the day. Control systems are simplified for the owner’s and guests ease of use.

The tower, completed in 2001, is adjacent to Yerba Buena Lane which provides a main access corridor to Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Center from Market Street and the Union Square shopping district. 

The lighting package for ths project accommodates a varied program and demanding asethetic requirements while highlighting advantageous viewpoints and key features in the architecture.

The Historic Renovation work creates a new interpretation of the marketplace while paying homage to the architecture and the architect.  The lighting in this area is both highly suggestive of the marketplace theme and functional in its approach to lighting the 3 story atrium space.  The atrium with its uplit open wooden trusses and a large scale glass panel montage is bathed in glowing light.  The meeting rooms, ballrooms, bars and restaurants all adjoin this space.

The downtown location adjacent to the Sacramento Convention Center and the newly opened  Esquire Plaza corporate offices targets the needs of the  business traveler.  The interior spaces are highly visible through the restored marketplace exterior.   They beckon as a comfortable refuge from a long day spent at the convention center.   The new tower adjoining the marketplace is fitted with articulated canopies at the entry and glass openings
